I’m still trying to see what I can do with it, mostly bc i’m working from essentially nothing. But as far as I’ve got, it’s essentially like … almost Classic Religious Cult in a way. Gifted child is revered as future holy knight, all other members devote their energy into making sure they’re raised with all the right traditions and skills and beliefs, it’s essentially isolated from the outside world — not that contact is forbidden (see: friendship with Rosabell), but it’s definitely weaned off and made almost “unnecessary” by the deacons / deaconesses.

is it so bad that i was cursed to be so…. tired? well, I still perform my job, so it’s okay, right? Even as the Holy Knight, I… never really cared much* about my half-awake mind. The effect of the Halo does that. It does something different to everyone else. Noa sees things, figures that don’t quite exist alongside us. Jericho was unable to process any audio information, so they’re pretty much deaf unless you can implant your voice into their brain. Turo could read minds — but every thought was so loud it drove him mad if he didn’t drown it out with music. Hallie had splitting migraines… no amount of medication could really soothe her pain. This kind of procedure was — and still is — experimental, of course it came with defects. Perhaps i’m lucky to only become fatigued, but sometimes I wonder what power I would have if not for my halo making me feel so lethargic. … well, i’d be weak to Reindeers. Heh. Maybe it’s not too bad, because Ishmael doesn’t hurt me as much as she hurts the others.
